Caramel Frosting

Love this recipe from Scott’s grandmother.  It’s best on top of a butter cake - I prefer Betty Crocker (cause I’m a cheater like that!).

Ingredients:

1 cup butter (yes! use the real deal!)

1 cup packed brown sugar (I prefer light)

1/4 cup milk

2 cups powdered sugar (though I often use closer to 3 cups)

1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

Melt butter in saucepan.  Add brown sugar.  Bring to boil over low heat and boil for two minutes, stirring constantly.  Add milk, return to boiling, stirring.

Remove from heat, cool slightly.  Add powdered sugar.  Mix thoroughly and add vanilla.

This will cover cake baked in 9 x 13 pan.
